Thanksgiving

House we live in.

The Fire

Have you heard about the fires in San Diego? Almost everyone around here got evacuated! Even I did. On Monday, the 22nd, we left my house and went to stay with my aunt and uncle. Actually, we were all staying at someone else's place, because my aunt and uncle were evacuated too. My asthma got very bad, but it's better now. One cool thing, every school in San Diego was closed for the whole week. I feel very sad for those who lost their houses. At least I know my place is safe. I pray that you are safe too!

My Autobiography

In September 1998, a perfect boy was born. That boy was me, Matthew. Now I am nine years old. I live with my Mom, my Dad, and my sister, Hannah. She was born in 2001, when I was two. She was very cute. I enjoy her because she likes to play with me. One of my favorite memories was going to Disneyland for the first time. It was awesome! Last year I had many adventures. I went to Monterey, I went on my first helicopter ride and I also went to Las Vegas! They were all very fun. I love to play guitar, read books, and write stories and poems. When I was little, I wanted to be a paleontologist when I grew up. Then I decided to be a writer. Now I have my heart set on being a rockstar. Maybe someday you’ll buy one of my albums!

If I Were President

If I were president, I would want to change a few things. I would stop the war in Iraq. We are losing troops every day! It may seem dangerous, but I would send every soldier home. I might keep a few guards in Iraq, just in case. I would also give more support to poor nations and people. I would send money and food. Why? To save civilizations from death. You know, our planet needs more beauty. I want to take down all the telephone poles, and put the wires underground. I would also plant more trees. YES! And more flowers. There are many things I will change when I’m president.

My trip to Guajome Park

I went to Guajome Park with my friend Isaac. We stayed 1 day and 1 night. Here is what we did:

Day 1
Our dads, Isaac, me and Isaac's little brothers Benjamin (6) and Ethan (5) met at my house. We drove to you know where (it's the park if you can't guess). While the dads set up the tent, Isaac, me and his little brothers rode our bikes. Then we went on a trail (with the dads) and played at the playground. Then we came back to the campground and rode our bikes some more. It was getting a little dark, so we ate dinner (BBQ hamburgers - yummy), had a camp fire with S'mores, and went to bed.

Day 2
We woke up and had cinnamon pancakes for breakfast with bacon. Very yummy! Later in the day, we rode to the playground to play again. Then we packed up and drove to Rubio's® and ate lunch. Then we drove home again.

P.S. We saw each other at church that night! We had fun. I'd love to do it again!

My First Day of School

We lined up at the flagpole. We said the pledge, then we went in the 3rd grade classroom. We first did math...which was easy I guess. Then we went over the rules (what goes where, what to do when you hear a whistle, etc.).Just like in 2nd grade, the first recess was boring. There was one cool thing: I saw a swing broken in half. Then we came back into class and worked on "ALL ABOUT ME" which is telling the teacher about me. Then was lunch. After that we did music and we made names for everyone. Mine was MARVELOUS MATTHEW! Then we came back for Spanish. We did Spanish hangman and after that we did Science...I think. Then we cleaned up and...BYE!!!

A STORMY NIGHT

There was a stormy night,
that gave me a fright
to know that it might,

My Trip to Julian

Day One: We packed up our things and we were off to Julian. As we drove, I got car sick, so we had to go slower. Finally we arrived at our cabin. We depacked and drove again to PIZZA! We ate and drove back to our cabin. At the bathroom we saw a roach! It was scary, so my Dad stepped on it with his shoe.

Day Two: My Dad woke me up and took me outside. We saw a family of wild turkeys. The rest of OUR family woke up and we had a pancake breakfast. We played on the scooter for awhile. Then we went on a long hike. Then we came back again for lunch (PB&J) and dinner.

Day Three: We woke up and had breakfast (eggs). Then we drove to Lake Cuyamaca. We ate lunch and went fishing. My Mom caught a baby catfish and I helped! We ate it for dinner with noodles and sauce.

Day Four: We went to the Julian Bakery to eat breakfast. Then we went to the lake again (to fish). We caught nothing. So what! We had a great time.
